  • Wednesday Spanish La Liga Results

    Barcelona Vs Atletico Madrid

A lot will happen when the title defending Barcelona against the second place competitor Atletico madrid plays in such an early stage of the La liga. Unfortunately the audience on the stadium and all over the television does not get what they want to see, even though both clubs wants to have the result not to lose a possession on this time.

Barcelona started off strongly and were in the driving seat from the word go. Atletico though were happy to let the hosts keep possession of the ball and sit back. the defence looked rock solid as usual and it too a beauty of a cross from Iniesta in the 41st minute for Barcelona to finally break through. Ivan Rakitic was unmarked in the box and he nodded in the first goal of the game in the 41st minute.

That was not the final result what the barcelona coach wants to have and the atletico fans will be so upset about the result that have been involved. The 2nd half kicked off with some amazing end-to-end stuff as both teams tried to score but it dried down once again when Barcelona got control of the ball. Messi went down injured in the 58th minute and was straight away taken off. Atletico Madrid also brought on Correa at the same time and the Atletico Madrid striker scored with his first couple of touches.

and the game goes over with a one to one draw for both the teams which can make both the coaches happy for the result they get. Lets look at what the coaches said about the game, The barcelona coach said the following "With Leo Messi out, football loses, we all lose," Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said. "We now have to look for different solutions. Of course we are stronger with Messi, but we are still strong enough.".

Simeone said that the goal coming on the heels of Messi's exit was "coincidence, pure coincidence."

"The key to the match was the change we made at the start of the second half," Simeone said. "We defended very well throughout, but in the second half we were able to be protagonists as well."

One of the biggest hit on the game was barcelona loses its main two key players that they can live without, at this critical and so early season barca shouldn't lose Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi with a single game held on.

The hosts looked to be well in control of the game thanks to Rakitic's opener before a double injury blow knocked them out of their stride just after the break.

Firstly, a day before he puts paper to a lucrative new deal Busquets limped off before Messi pulled up with the recurrence of a groin problem.

Arda Turan had barely set foot on the field to replace Messi before Correa burst clear to level.

Losing two points hurts in the short-term, but Barca's biggest loss of the night could be in the two players they find impossible to replace for the coming weeks.

  • English Primer League Week 9 matches

The English Primer League will continue with a game week nine on the coming week ends with some expected and challenging games coming and with some games that doesn't have an impact that much. Manchester City is taking the lead with 19 points and 11 goal differences and Arsenal FC following with the same point and lead by one goal difference, While Totenham and Liverpool following the leaders on the leading table with 18 and 17 points respectively.

The defending champions Leicester City are still struggling to get through the top four list by focusing not to loose champions league games which they succeed by winning consecutive three games. The Red devils couldn't posses a uniform shape in-spite spending a lot of money on building their squad to get out of the spell they get in to in the last three years during Van gaal  and David Moyes era, they managed to win four games , lose and draw two games to get 14 points and put on seventh place on the league table.

The bottom of the league table is still occupied by Sunderland, they could get two points only in two draw games. Even thought they change a manager and buy some players its getting hard for them to get a win. The other team that changed a manager is Swansea, bob Bradly managed to get his first game as a the club manager in a game against Arsenal. Unfortunately they lost by one goal conceding three goals and scored two, this puts them above Sunderland by two points. The other team who is under a threat to relegate is Stoke City with a tally of 6 points loosing by five goal differences.

Here are the top expected games of the week nine schedules respectively

  • Real Madrid vs Villarreal

It was a record breaking run for the galactico to beat the record holds by their big opponent Barcelona against Villarreal, For the first time this season, Real Madrid failed to win a match. A solid display by visitors Villarreal and a poor first 45 minutes by the hosts made it difficult for Zinedine Zidane's team to pull off another comeback victory, and they settled for a 1-1 draw, though they were mighty close in the final minutes of the game.

Despite Real Madrid's lack of control over the midfield during the first half, Villarreal generated only two dangerous attacks. Before Zidane made any substitutions, the team's second-half push had already generated clear scoring chances, with most players involved one way or another in the buildup. True to form, the side never gave up, but walking on a tightrope eventually ends badly.

If Real Madrid's centre-backs already looked like a cause for concern in a few matches earlier in the season, this performance did little to ease those concerns. Raphael Varane looked less composed than ever in the first 45 minutes, while Sergio Ramos made his share of expected defensive mistakes.

The match also showcased that starting an out-of-shape front three (Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo) without Casemiro demands too much of the midfield and eases the opposition's work to control possession. Finally, Marcelo's injury will worry Zidane, as Fabio Coentrao is still recovering from injury, and there's no other left-back ready to cover for the Brazilian, with tough matches against Las Palmas and Borussia Dortmund coming up.

    Manager rating

5 out of 10 -- The lineup was unbalanced, something that became clear in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Similar to in other matches this season, it took Zidane too long to use his bench. However, the will to win he has instilled in his squad is impressive.

Player ratings (1-10, with 10 the best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)

GK Kiko Casilla, 6 -- Penalty aside, he did not have much work to do.

DF Danilo, 7 -- He did fine both in the right- and left-back positions. Danilo didn't have the best judgement with the ball, but he compensated with one of his best physical displays at the Santiago Bernabeu.

DF Raphael Varane, 5 -- Varane finished a weak first half with an ill-advised dribble in his own half when Real Madrid were playing with 10 men. The lost ball resulted in Villarreal's penalty and first goal. It wasn't his first questionable play with the ball, either. The Frenchman improved clearly in the second half.

DF Sergio Ramos, 6 -- For the second consecutive match, Ramos stopped a shot with his hands in his own area. This time, his "I've been hit on the face" routine didn't work. In pure Ramos fashion, he drew level with a fantastic header early in the second half.

DF Marcelo, 6 -- Marcelo had been rather participative offensively, with a few well-taken crosses until he picked up an injury and had to leave the match right before halftime.

MF Mateo Kovacic, 7 -- Kovacic added stamina and mobility and showed that he can take the ball from defence to attack in a few seconds. With more playing time, he should grow in the side.

MF Toni Kroos, 8 -- He's clearly in one of his best spells with Real Madrid. He passed well, short and long and even took a few shots himself.

MF James Rodriguez, 7 -- Determined to earn a starting spot, Rodriguez made a clear effort in terms of participating and offering his help on defence. He made a couple uncharacteristic mistakes in plays in the final third.

FW Gareth Bale, 6 -- A handful of crosses and a well-taken shot in the second half are well below what Bale can deliver. He's still far from his best shape.

FW Karim Benzema, 6 -- Similar to what happened Sunday against Espanyol, Benzema started off poorly and grew as the game went along. Zidane is obviously helping Benzema to get in shape by starting him, but in this match, it was too much of a gamble, especially because the Frenchman is the least keen on defending of the front three.

FW Cristiano Ronaldo, 6 -- He did not participate much, but he had a couple chances that could have changed the outcome of the match.

    Substitutes

DF Dani Carvajal, 7 -- He replaced Marcelo in the 43rd minute. He pushed forward as much as he could and had no major issues dealing with Villarreal's forwards.

FW Lucas Vazquez, 6 -- Vazquez replaced Bale in the 71st minute and could have scored the winner in a block by Villarreal's defence, but it's hard to ask him to make the difference in every match when he has time for only three or four attacks.

MF Alvaro Morata, NR -- He replaced Benzema in the 76th minute and forced an amazing save by Villarreal's Sergio Asenjo with a great header.

  • Football League Cup Third Round Results

Here are the list of results that happened on yesterday's game on the English Football league cup

    1) Nottingham Forest 0 Arsenal 4:

With an amazing flow of passess and goals Arsenal beats the Nottingham forest by four goals to nil. The new comers Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez shows their value with out hesitations and arsene wenger was delgihted.

The Gunners won their last league fixture in convincing fashion, dismantling newly-promoted Hull City 4-1 at the KCOM Stadium. However, few of the players who started and starred in that win are likely to feature against Nottingham Forest, with Wenger traditionally using the EFL Cup to rotate his squad and give youth a chance.

Lucas Perez scored his first Arsenal goals as they reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a comfortable win at Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Granit Xhaka's stunning 30-yard strike gave the Gunners the lead. Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner shot wide for Forest before Lucas doubled Arsenal's lead from the penalty spot after Chuba Akpom was fouled.

Lucas then rounded the goalkeeper for his second before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drove in a late fourth.

Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier: "Like the team, Niklas Bendtner started very well at the beginning and then after it was very difficult for him because Arsenal had the ball and he did not have a lot of opportunity to play.

"But physically I am surprised he is so fit because he had not a big pre-season with Copenhagen.

"It was a good experience not only for Nicklas but for all the players because Arsenal have great technique, better than us, and it was difficult for us but my players, they gave everything."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: "Lucas did well. He's quick, he's determined. He uses well his left foot - a bit too much in my taste. He doesn't use his right enough. Overall he's like all the left-footed players, you know.

"But I like his second goal because he has shown not only technique but determination and fight for the ball and finishing and I like that. The part he played in the goal of Oxlade-Chamberlain shows his awareness of other people and it is intelligent play.

"But the most important thing for me is that we win the game. Who scores is not so important but for the player individually it's good because he can convince people he can play for us. It will help himself as well to grow in belief."

     2) Leicester CIty Vs Chelsea

The defending champions (Red Foxes) had a big dream to get in the top of the Football League Cup in order to increase their chance of getting a cup in the competition year but it didn't happen as they expected.

Leicester City thrashed Burnley 3-0 in the weekend Premier League fixture after the to earn their second competitive win in a row after the 4-1 thrashing at Liverpool a week ago. However, the defending English Champions sit 11th in the league table and there is a lot of catching to do with the league leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season and they were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool at home on Saturday. Antonio Conte’s men sit fifth in the league, 5 points below Manchester City. The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw in the previous week and there is plenty of concerns with a sloppy defense.

Leicester City vs Chelsea: Head-to-Head Stats

Leicester City defeated Chelsea 2-0 when they meet for the Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium last season. The win ended the Foxes’ terrible run of 8 consecutive losses against Chelsea in all competitions. The teams drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge in the reverse leg on May 2016.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri: "I am happy with our performance until 2-0. We started very well and we were in control of the match. Chelsea had more possession but we were very smart and clever to score twice.

"The key was when we conceded a goal on the last corner of the half - we lost two dangerous men, Luiz and Cahill.

"In extra time I said stay together and close the space, but Fabregas scored and it was very difficult for us."

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: "It's important when I call someone to play and they show me my choice is not wrong.

"I am pleased for Cesc because he played a good game, he showed me great commitment in the training sessions. I am satisfied when I see this behaviour.

"This is the right way and I want my players to create good competition and, game by game, give me the opportunity to choose the best line-up."
